Singing with others feels good –– and for good reason. This seemingly simple activity has a network of complex social, emotional, physiological and biological processes underpinning it. As we’ve deepened understanding of the impacts of group singing, we’ve found that many of the same factors that make group singing so powerful for improving communication challenges also make it a highly beneficial practice for anyone.
Group singing’s impacts on wellbeing make it an especially powerful intervention for people experiencing social isolation, mental health challenges, or barriers to the social determinants of health and wellbeing.
